No pain, no gain!

Over the weekend my husband and I worked (remodeled) at our cabin. We pulled up the carpets and pads, then laid LVP flooring. Seems like it would be easy work, right?! Maybe for younger people, but we are getting older and such tasks are becoming harder on our bodies. We started the day by getting up at 5 am, then worked until almost 1:30 am the next morning. We stopped for a few minutes for some healthy snacks, then kept to the grind. This Monday morning we both could barely walk, we were complaining about our lower backs, etc… But as we look at the pictures we took of the finished project (the floor), we know that it was all worth it for how awesome it looks!

Not every project we have done has been this quick, this exciting, or even something we even wanted to do. We made a plan on when and how we were going to do this, then committed ourselves to doing it. We knew we might come across some road blocks, and when we did we worked through it. We went into this with the attitude that once you start something…you don’t give up until you’ve completed it…no matter how much pain you’re in!
